Description
The Garmin Reactor 40 Hydraulic autopilot corepack provides GPS-stabilised steering for boats with hydraulic helms. The Reactor 40 CCU is a solid-state course computer that senses heading, attitude and rate of turn to hold a course or follow a route accurately, while the supplied ECU 10 drives the steering pump. This corepack includes a Shadow Drive sensor that suspends autopilot control the instant you turn the wheel, then re-engages when you settle on course, and the GHC 20 colour instrument for dedicated push-button and knob control at the helm. The matching Garmin hydraulic pump is selected separately to suit your steering cylinder volume. NMEA 2000 connectivity links the system to compatible Garmin chartplotters for waypoint and route navigation, and Dockside and Sea Trial wizards tune performance to your boat.

Is a pump included?
No. This is a corepack: it provides the CCU, ECU 10, Shadow Drive sensor and GHC 20 instrument. You add a Garmin hydraulic pump sized to your steering cylinder.
Does it include a control head?
Yes, the GHC 20 autopilot instrument is supplied for dedicated control at the helm. The CCU can also be controlled from a compatible Garmin chartplotter on the same NMEA 2000 network.
What does the Shadow Drive sensor do?
Fitted in the hydraulic steering line, it detects when you turn the helm manually and suspends autopilot control, then resumes when you hold a steady heading again.
What power supply is required?
The ECU 10 connects to a 12 to 24 Vdc supply through the supplied 40 A fuse, and the NMEA 2000 network is powered from a 9 to 16 Vdc source.
