A 5-port RayNet marine network switch with 10/100 Mbps on ports 1 to 4 and Gigabit on port 5. Retired product still widely used on existing Raymarine systems.

Description

The Raymarine HS5 (A80007) is a 5-port RayNet network switch for expanding Raymarine Ethernet networks. Ports 1 to 4 operate at 10/100 Mbps and port 5 operates at Gigabit speed, making it suitable for mixed-speed systems. Sold as a "Retired" product on Raymarine's website, the HS5 remains compatible with current Axiom 2 displays, sonar modules and other RayNet devices for use in spares and existing installations. For new installations, Raymarine recommends the RNS-5 (A80731) or RNS-8 (A80732) all-Gigabit switches. Supplied with waterproof RayNet connectors on all ports.

Is the HS5 compatible with Axiom 2 Pro and Axiom 2 XL chartplotters?

Yes. The HS5 uses standard RayNet connectors and is compatible with all current Axiom 2 Pro, Axiom 2 XL, RVX1000 and RVM1600 devices. However, as a retired product it is no longer manufactured, and the RNS-5 or RNS-8 are recommended for new installations.

What is the difference between the HS5 and the RNS-5?

The HS5 has 5 ports at mixed speeds (10/100 Mbps on ports 1-4, Gigabit on port 5). The RNS-5 has 5 Gigabit-speed ports on all connections and is the current recommended replacement. The RNS-8 adds 4 PoE ports for powering cameras and remote keypads.
