The Simrad GO5 XSE is a 5-inch multi-touch chartplotter and fishfinder, supplied here with the TotalScan Skimmer transducer and a C-MAP MAX-N chart for Northern Europe. CHIRP sonar plus StructureScan and DownScan Imaging come from a single transom-mount transducer. A built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi and NMEA 2000 networking complete the package.
Description
The compact 5-inch Simrad GO5 XSE brings chartplotting, GPS and sonar to smaller sportboats and dayboats with limited dash space. The super-bright multi-touch screen reads clearly in sunlight, and built-in Wi-Fi keeps charts updated and mirrors the display to a phone or tablet.
Supplied with the TotalScan transom-mount transducer for medium/high CHIRP sonar with StructureScan HD and DownScan Imaging, and a C-MAP MAX-N chart card for Northern Europe offering detailed coastal charting, tidal data, high-definition contours and C-MAP Easy Routing. NMEA 2000 connects engine data, sensors and audio.

What size is the Simrad GO5 screen?
The GO5 XSE has a 5-inch widescreen colour display with WVGA 800 x 480 resolution. It is a multi-touch screen with a bright 1200-nit backlight for clear viewing in direct sunlight.
Does the GO5 have built-in GPS and Wi-Fi?
Yes. The GO5 XSE has an internal GPS receiver for position and a built-in Wi-Fi connection, which lets you download chart updates and view the display on a phone or tablet.
What sonar does the GO5 support and which transducer is included?
The GO5 XSE has a built-in CHIRP sounder with DownScan Imaging and connects a single 9-pin XSonic transducer. This package includes the TotalScan transom-mount transducer for medium/high CHIRP sonar with StructureScan HD and DownScan Imaging.
Can I connect radar to the GO5?
No. Unlike the larger GO7, GO9 and GO12, the GO5 XSE does not have a radar (Ethernet) connection and does not support radar. If you need radar, choose a GO7 or larger model.
How does the GO5 connect to other equipment, and what is its power and waterproof rating?
The GO5 XSE has a single NMEA 2000 Micro-C port for engine data, sensors, autopilot and FUSION audio. It runs on a 10 to 17 V DC supply and carries an IPX7 waterproof rating.
