Description

The Victron Lithium SuperPack 12.8V 60Ah is a LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery with an integrated battery management system and a built-in safety switch, so it installs without an external BMS or contactor. The internal switch disconnects the battery automatically on over-discharge, overcharge, or temperature outside the safe window, which makes it a simple drop-in replacement for a lead-acid leisure battery.

Unlike lead-acid, lithium chemistry can sit at a partial state of charge without sulfation, and service life even improves slightly under partial charging. Round-trip efficiency of around 92 per cent means more of every charge is returned to your loads, which matters on boats relying on solar or limited engine charging. At 768 Wh and 7.5 kg, the 60Ah pack suits a modest house bank for lighting, electronics, pumps, and similar auxiliary loads.

Multiple batteries can be wired in parallel without limit to build a larger bank; series connection is not permitted. The pack is rated IP43 and must be installed in an allowed orientation.

Does the SuperPack need an external BMS?
No. The SuperPack has an integrated battery management system and a built-in safety switch. The internal switch disconnects the battery automatically in case of over-discharge, overcharge, or low or high temperature, so no additional components are required.
Can these batteries be connected in parallel or in series?
They can be connected in parallel without limit to increase capacity. Series connection is not allowed.
What are the charge and discharge limits for the 60Ah model?
Maximum continuous charge and discharge current is 30 A, with a peak discharge current of 80 A for 10 seconds. The absorption charge voltage is 14.2 V to 14.4 V and the float voltage is 13.5 V.
Does the standard SuperPack have Bluetooth?
No. The standard 12.8V and 25.6V SuperPack range does not include Bluetooth monitoring; that feature is found on the SuperPack NG range.
What is the expected cycle life?
2500 cycles at 80 per cent depth of discharge at 25°C, with capacity and energy loss below 1 per cent per 100 cycles.
