Description

The Quick Network Block QNB-1-PMW gives NMEA 2000 backbones fault-free, fused connections in a single sealed enclosure, replacing a string of individual tee-pieces with one IP66 block offering six drops. It is perfectly suited to areas of high instrument density where several sensors and displays sit close together. This version is fitted with six standard NMEA 2000 M12 (micro-fit) female connectors for true plug-and-play installation, with minimal wiring required, while the backbone glands at the top still allow any cable, including Raymarine SeaTalk NG, to be stripped and wired in to create hybrid networks without adaptor cables.

The QNB-1-PMW powers the left and right sides of the backbone independently, each protected by its own clearly visible ATO fuse. Feeding each half separately reduces voltage drop and means a blown fuse on one side leaves the other half running, adding useful redundancy. LED indicators report power, reversed polarity, fuse status and the presence of data on the bus, so an installer can diagnose a network at a glance. No software or setup is required.

What is the difference between the QNB-1-PMW and the standard QNB-1?
The QNB-1-PMW is fitted with six pre-wired M12 (micro-fit) female connectors so drops simply plug in, making installation quick with minimal wiring. The standard QNB-1 instead uses cable glands and screw terminals for wiring custom lengths of bulk cable. Both share the same six drops, split fused power feed and diagnostic LEDs.
Why does the QNB-1-PMW have two fuses?
The block powers the left and right halves of the backbone independently, each through its own ATO fuse. This reduces voltage drop and means that if a fuse blows on one side, the other half of the network stays powered for added redundancy.
Can I still wire bulk cable into the QNB-1-PMW?
Yes. While the six drops are pre-wired M12 female connectors, the backbone glands at the top let you strip and wire in any NMEA 2000 cable, including Raymarine SeaTalk NG, so you can create hybrid networks without adaptor cables.
