Description

Integrated AIS and GPS Receivers A dual-channel AIS receiver monitors the position of nearby AIS-equipped vessels, helping you to avoid collisions in crowded harbours and waterways. AIS information can be viewed on the V60’s built-in screen, or overlaid on your chart or radar screen through a compatible multifunction display. An integrated GPS receiver ensures your yacht’s location can be sent with DSC distress calls, even if the rest of your on-board electronics are powered down.

Removable Fist Mic The V60’s removable fist mic can be connected to the front or rear of the radio, and optional extension cables allow the radio and mic to be mounted separately. This offers a simple and cost-effective solution for any mounting location, with no cable clutter. For example, the V60 can be mounted overhead, with no hanging cables, while the mic is connected to an extension socket on the dash below.

Expandable with Wireless Handsets Add an optional wireless handset to take your radio anywhere on board. The H60 handset was designed as an intuitive portable companion to the V60. Each handset duplicates your radio’s display and controls, enabling remote access to all key functions. Up to two wireless handsets can be connected to a single base station. With multiple handsets connected, the V60 doubles as a handy on-board intercom.

Does the V60 transmit AIS or only receive it?
The V60 has a dual-channel AIS receiver only. It receives and displays nearby AIS-equipped vessels but does not transmit your position. If you want to be seen by other AIS users, choose the V60-B, which includes a Class B AIS transceiver.
Do I need an MMSI to use the DSC functions?
Yes. A valid user MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) must be obtained from your national authority and entered into the radio before DSC functions will operate. The MMSI can usually only be entered once, so enter it carefully.
Does the V60 have its own GPS?
Yes. The V60 has a built-in 72-channel GPS receiver and antenna, with a connection for an optional external GPS antenna. This ensures your position is available for DSC distress calls even if other electronics are switched off.
Can I add wireless handsets to the V60?
Yes. Up to two H60 wireless handsets can be paired with the V60 base station. Each handset duplicates the radio display and controls, and with handsets connected the V60 also works as an on-board intercom.
Can the V60 connect to my chartplotter?
Yes. The V60 has both NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 ports. Over NMEA 2000 it can share AIS and position data with a compatible multifunction display, and DSC and MOB information can be passed to the rest of your network.
