Description
The Oceanic Systems 3415 DC Current Shunt measures direct currents from -500 A to +500 A and provides a low millivolt output proportional to the current flowing through it. It is designed to be read by a suitably equipped Oceanic Systems measuring device such as the 3410 NMEA 2000 DC Monitor, allowing charge and discharge currents to be monitored accurately.
Fitted in series with the main battery negative or positive conductor, the shunt lets the DC Monitor calculate current draw, state of charge and consumption from batteries, solar panels and wind generators. It is a simple, robust component with no active electronics, making it a reliable long term part of a vessel monitoring installation.
