Description
The Victron Argo Diode Battery Isolator 140A charges three independent battery banks from a single alternator or charger while keeping all three fully isolated from one another. Discharging one bank, such as a domestic service battery, will not draw down the others, so the engine start battery is always protected and ready.
Isolation uses Schottky diodes for a low forward voltage drop of roughly 0.3 V at light load and about 0.45 V at the rated output. A fitted compensation diode lets you raise the alternator output voltage slightly to offset this drop, and an alternator energize input supplies B+ when the engine run switch is closed so machine-sensing alternators begin charging reliably.
The isolator adjusts automatically to 12 V or 24 V systems and needs no control wiring or maintenance. Heavy-duty M8 stud connections and a compact steel enclosure suit marine, motorhome and off-grid installations where up to three banks share one higher-output charge source.
