What does the H5000 Pilot Controller do?
The Pilot Controller manages all autopilot functions as well as system set-up and commissioning. Use it to select autopilot modes, adjust the pilot or manually steer the vessel, giving dedicated, secure control of the H5000 Pilot.
Do I need a Pilot Computer to use the Pilot Controller?
Yes. The Pilot Controller is the dedicated control head for the H5000 autopilot and works with an H5000 Pilot Computer and CPU. It does not steer the boat on its own.
What screen does the Pilot Controller have?
It has a 2-inch monochrome transflective LED display with 128 x 64 pixel resolution, giving clear readout of autopilot status in all light conditions.
How is the Pilot Controller powered and connected?
It is network powered from the NMEA 2000 / Micro-C backbone (drawing about 1.2 W typical, 1.6 W maximum, 3 LEN) and connects with a single Micro-C drop cable to the H5000 network.
Is the Pilot Controller suitable for cockpit mounting?
Yes, it carries an IPX7 waterproof rating for exposed mounting at the helm, with a compass safe distance of 0.3 m (1.0 ft).
Can I also control the autopilot from other displays?
Yes. As well as the Pilot Controller you can control and set up the pilot from an H5000 Graphic Display or compatible Triton2 display and keypad, and from wireless remotes such as the WR10.
