Description
The Victron Orion 12/24-20 is a non-isolated DC-DC converter that steps a 12V supply up to a 24V output, delivering up to 20A (480W continuous). The output is adjustable with a potentiometer over a 20 to 30V range, with a factory setting of 26.4V, so it can power 24V equipment from a 12V system or buffer-charge a 24V battery from a 12V source.
Efficiency is around 93 percent and a temperature-controlled fan keeps the unit cool at this higher power level. A remote on/off connector removes the need for a high-current switch in the input wiring and can be driven by a low-power switch or the engine run/stop signal. Adjustable-output models can be paralleled, up to five units, to increase the available output current.
Power connections use M6 bolts for secure high-current wiring, and the converter installs without special tools.
