Description

The Garmin Boat Switch brings the integrated-boat experience to compatible GPSMAP and ECHOMAP chartplotters, replacing rows of physical switches and fuse panels with digital control on the helm display. As a pre-configured module it connects to the NMEA 2000 network and to the vessel's circuits through two supplied wiring harnesses, ready to operate up to 20 circuits with minimal setup.

Channels provide latching, dimmable and momentary outputs, so you can run navigation and anchor lighting, bilge and livewell pumps, interior lights and accessories, along with always-on feeds. The module also monitors up to four tanks and battery voltage, reporting levels back to the chartplotter. Software fuses protect every channel and can be reset from the display or the hard keys on the unit, and the rugged IPX65 polycarbonate housing suits permanent installation. A dedicated 50 A power feed is required, as the unit does not draw power from the NMEA 2000 backbone.

General

CompatibilityCompatible GPSMAP and ECHOMAP chartplotters
How many circuits can the Garmin Boat Switch control?
The Boat Switch lets you operate up to 20 circuits directly from a compatible GPSMAP or ECHOMAP chartplotter, with latching, dimmable, momentary and always-on outputs.
Does it monitor tanks and batteries?
Yes. The module can monitor up to four tanks using resistive or voltage sensors, plus battery voltage, and reports the levels back to the chartplotter over NMEA 2000.
Does the Boat Switch need its own power supply?
Yes. The unit requires a dedicated power feed through a 50 A circuit breaker or fuse and does not draw power from the NMEA 2000 backbone. It supports up to 50 A total across all active channels.
What happens if a circuit overloads?
Each channel is protected by a software fuse. If a fuse trips you are notified on the chartplotter, and you can reset it from the display or using the hard keys on the module itself.
Which chartplotters is it compatible with?
The Garmin Boat Switch works with compatible GPSMAP and ECHOMAP chartplotters, which provide the digital switching control pages.
