Description

The AIT5000 is Digital Yacht's flagship all-in-one AIS solution. It is a Class B+ transponder using SOTDMA format transmissions, delivering 5W of output power, 2.5 times more than a standard Class B, together with a guaranteed transmission time slot in busy traffic and faster update rates that vary with vessel speed. This gives it the same slot priority as Class A systems, making it ideal for ocean sailors, fast powerboats and smaller non-mandated commercial vessels while remaining fully interoperable with existing Class A and Class B equipment.

A patented ZeroLoss VHF-AIS antenna splitter lets a single masthead antenna be shared between the AIS, VHF and FM radio, removing the need for a second antenna. The AIT5000 creates its own secure, password-protected WiFi network so AIS and GPS data can be sent to popular apps such as Navionics, iSailor, TimeZero, iNavX and Weather4D, with up to seven devices connected over UDP or TCP. Configuration is handled entirely through a built-in web interface with no separate software required, and NMEA 0183 multiplexing, NMEA 2000 and USB outputs are all provided. Supplied with an external GPS antenna, with an optional AIS SART alarm for use with personal MOB devices.

What is the difference between Class B and Class B+?
Class B transmits at 2W every 30 seconds regardless of speed. Class B+ uses SOTDMA at 5W, giving a guaranteed transmission time slot in busy traffic and faster update rates that increase with vessel speed, the same slot priority as Class A.
Do I need a separate antenna for the VHF and AIS?
No. The AIT5000 has a patented ZeroLoss VHF-AIS antenna splitter built in, so a single masthead VHF antenna can be shared safely between the AIS, the VHF radio and the FM radio.
How do I configure the AIT5000?
Configuration is done through the built-in web interface. Connect to the AIT5000 WiFi network, open a web browser and enter its IP address to set the vessel details, network name and password. No separate software or app is required.
