Description

The Garmin GPSMAP 923xsv with GMR 18 HD+ Radome is a ready-to-install radar bundle, combining the 9-inch GPSMAP 923xsv chartplotter with Garmin's compact 18-inch dome radar. It is an efficient way to add collision avoidance and weather awareness to a connected helm.

The GMR 18 HD+ is a magnetron radome delivering 4 kW of peak power, with detection from 20 m out to 36 nm. Radar imagery is displayed on the chartplotter and can be overlaid on the chart through the Garmin Marine Network.

The 923xsv brings a high-resolution WXGA IPS touchscreen with built-in SideVu, ClearVu and traditional CHIRP sonar, a preloaded worldwide basemap and support for premium Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts. Built-in Wi-Fi, NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connect the system to the ActiveCaptain app, autopilots, engine data and instruments. Both units are rated to IPX7.

What is included in this bundle?
This bundle (010-02366-50) includes the GPSMAP 923xsv chartplotter and the Garmin GMR 18 HD+ Radome with its network cable and mounting hardware. A transducer for the chartplotter sonar is sold separately.
What are the radar specifications?
The GMR 18 HD+ is an 18-inch magnetron dome radar with 4 kW peak power, a maximum range of 36 nm and a minimum range of 20 m. It rotates at up to 24 RPM and connects to the chartplotter over the Garmin Marine Network.
What sonar does the 923xsv chartplotter provide?
The 923xsv has built-in Garmin SideVu and ClearVu scanning sonar plus traditional CHIRP sonar through a 12-pin transducer port, and it supports Panoptix and LiveScope live sonar over the network.
Can radar and charts be shown together?
Yes. Radar imagery from the GMR 18 HD+ can be displayed on the 9-inch screen and overlaid on the navigation chart, since both connect through the Garmin Marine Network.
How is each unit powered?
The chartplotter accepts 10 to 32 Vdc with a 6 A fuse, while the GMR 18 HD+ radome accepts 11 to 35 Vdc at 3.5 A with a 7.5 A fuse. Each is wired to the vessel power supply.
