Description
This is the pedestal, the rotating drive base, for a Garmin GMR Fantom 40W solid-state open-array radar. The antenna array and cable are not included, so it is intended as a replacement or service part for an existing Fantom open-array installation. Fit one of Garmin's Fantom 4 ft or 6 ft open arrays to complete the scanner.
The Fantom platform uses 40 W solid-state pulse-compression transmission with MotionScope Doppler processing, which highlights moving targets to help judge their direction and speed. It detects out to 72 nautical miles, supports MARPA and dual-range, and connects to compatible Garmin chartplotters over the Garmin Marine Network.
