Description
The Garmin GPS 78s is a rugged handheld marine GPS built to float, making it well suited as a primary or backup navigator on board. A high-sensitivity receiver delivers fast, reliable fixes, and the unit comes with a worldwide basemap and supports waypoint, route and track navigation through a clear colour display and simple button controls.
The GPS 78s adds a tilt-compensated three-axis electronic compass and a barometric altimeter, so it shows heading even when standing still and helps track pressure trends. It floats and carries an IPX7 water rating for confidence on the water, includes a microSD card slot for additional charts, and runs on two widely available AA batteries.
