Description

The Garmin GPS 19x is a high-sensitivity GPS antenna that supplies precise position data to a compatible chartplotter over the NMEA 2000 network. Its receiver tracks GPS and GLONASS satellites simultaneously and supports WAAS and EGNOS corrections for improved accuracy, while a fast 10 Hz update rate keeps track plots and velocity readings smooth and detailed.

Connection is plug-and-play using the supplied NMEA 2000 T-connector and 6 m drop cable, and the antenna presents a low load of just LEN 2, drawing around 40 mA. Housed in a fully gasketed plastic-alloy case rated to IPX7, the GPS 19x mounts on a surface, a pole or under a fibreglass deck using the included brackets, and configuration options such as WAAS/EGNOS, GLONASS and a speed filter are accessed from a connected Garmin device.

Does this version use NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183?
This is the NMEA 2000 version. It connects plug-and-play to your existing NMEA 2000 network using the supplied T-connector and 6 m drop cable. A separate NMEA 0183 (HVS) version of the GPS 19x is also available.
Which satellite systems does it use?
It tracks GPS and GLONASS satellites and supports WAAS and EGNOS corrections, which you can enable from the antenna configuration menu on a connected Garmin device.
What is the position update rate?
The antenna outputs position data at up to 10 Hz for smooth, detailed tracking.
What load does it place on the NMEA 2000 network?
It presents a low load equivalent number of LEN 2 and draws around 40 mA at 12 Vdc, so it has minimal impact on your network power budget.
How can it be mounted?
You can mount it on a flat surface, on a standard 1 in. OD pole, or under a fibreglass deck using the supplied brackets. Choose a location with a clear view of the sky, away from radar, VHF antennas and sources of interference.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. The fully gasketed plastic-alloy housing is rated to IEC 60529 IPX7, withstanding incidental immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes.
