Description

The Garmin GPSMAP 78 is a compact marine handheld navigator designed to go wherever your boating takes you. It floats, shrugs off spray and immersion to IPX7, and drives a 2.6-inch sunlight-readable colour display from two AA batteries, giving up to 20 hours of use between changes. A high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled receiver with a quad-helix antenna holds position quickly and reliably, even close to the cabin or under tree cover.

A preloaded worldwide basemap gets you oriented straight away, while the microSD card slot lets you load BlueChart g2 or g3 cartography for detailed coastal navigation. Rugged, simple and dependable, the GPSMAP 78 works equally well as a primary handheld for smaller craft or as a reliable backup to a fixed chartplotter.
