Description

The Garmin Airmar ST850 is a low-profile plastic thru-hull smart sensor that delivers speed through water and water temperature straight to your NMEA 2000 network. A paddlewheel measures vessel speed while the fast-response temperature sensor reports water temperature, both processed inside the sensor for display on a compatible chartplotter or instrument.

It reads speed from 2 to 45 knots with smooth, linear output and a temperature accuracy of +/- 0.5 C. The low-profile housing is nearly flush, extending just 5 mm (3/16 in) outside the hull to minimise drag, and an integrated self-closing valve minimises water flow into the bilge when the insert is removed to clean the paddlewheel. It fits hull deadrise up to 22 degrees and is supplied with a 6 m (20 ft) NMEA 2000 cable.

What does the ST850 measure?
It measures speed through water using a paddlewheel and water temperature with a fast-response sensor, sending both to your NMEA 2000 network.
What is the speed range?
The ST850 reads speed from 2 to 45 knots with smooth, linear output.
How do I clean the paddlewheel?
The retractable insert can be removed for cleaning, and the housing has a self-closing valve that minimises water flow into the bilge while the insert is out.
What is the NMEA 2000 load equivalency number?
The NMEA 2000 ST850 has a Load Equivalency Number (LEN) of 2 and is supplied with a 6 m (20 ft) NMEA 2000 cable.
