Description
The Garmin Volvo IPS Gateway is the autopilot gateway that allows a Garmin marine autopilot to steer the boat through the Volvo Penta EVC steering system. It connects to the Volvo steering using a proprietary Volvo connector on one side and to the Garmin autopilot on the other, passing steering commands so the autopilot can hold a heading and follow routes on EVC-equipped vessels. It is compatible with Volvo Penta EVC systems version C3 or newer. On Reactor steer-by-wire installations the gateway is powered from an included cable connected to a 9 to 24 Vdc supply and ties into the autopilot data bus. The module itself is compact, measuring 130 x 60 x 25 mm and weighing less than 28 g, and is installed as part of a Garmin autopilot system on Volvo Penta boats.
