Description

The Garmin Reactor 40 autopilot corepack supplies the essential building blocks of a GPS-stabilised marine autopilot. The Reactor 40 CCU is a solid-state course computer that senses heading, attitude and rate of turn to hold a course or follow a route accurately, while the supplied ECU 10 drives the steering pump or actuator. A Shadow Drive sensor is included for automatic manual takeover on hydraulic steering systems. This corepack is supplied without a dedicated autopilot instrument, so the CCU connects to a NMEA 2000 network and is controlled from a compatible Garmin chartplotter, which also feeds it waypoint and route data. Pair the corepack with a Garmin hydraulic pump or drive chosen to suit your boat. Dockside and Sea Trial wizards tune the system to your hull.

What is included in this corepack?
The CCU, ECU 10, Shadow Drive sensor and audible alarm with NMEA 2000 cabling. It does not include a pump or a control head.
Which drives can I use with it?
Pair it with a Garmin hydraulic pump chosen to suit your steering cylinder. The supplied Shadow Drive sensor is intended for hydraulic steering systems.
How is the autopilot controlled?
This corepack has no dedicated instrument; the CCU connects to NMEA 2000 and is controlled from a compatible Garmin chartplotter. A GHC instrument can be added separately.
What power supply is required?
The ECU 10 connects to a 12 to 24 Vdc supply through the supplied 40 A fuse, and the NMEA 2000 network is powered from a 9 to 16 Vdc source.
