Description
The Icom GM600 is a GMDSS VHF transceiver with Class A DSC, designed to provide a complete GMDSS VHF communication system for commercial SOLAS regulated vessels engaging in international voyages. It meets both the UK Marine Equipment Regulation (MER) Red Ensign mark and the European Marine Equipment Directive (MED) wheel mark, and when paired with the GM800 MF/HF radio it forms a full GMDSS VHF, MF and HF radio station.
The built-in DSC system, with a dedicated watch-keeping receiver monitoring channel 70, provides automated distress and safety communication and stores up to 100 MMSI numbers. A 4.3 inch wide viewing angle colour TFT LCD, directional keypad and soft keys keep operation clear and simple even when the radio is panel mounted. A waterproof paper speaker cone delivers loud, intelligible audio, the front panel carries IPX7 protection and a corrosion-resistant rear coating, and the required PS-310 DC-DC converter supplies stable 12.6 V power from a 12 V or 24 V source.
