Description
The Garmin GPSMAP 86i brings inReach satellite communication to a floating marine handheld, letting you stay in contact beyond mobile coverage. Using the global Iridium network it sends and receives text messages, triggers an interactive SOS to the Garmin Response coordination centre and shares your position through live tracking. inReach features require an active satellite subscription.
As a navigator it matches the GPSMAP 86s: a sunlight-readable 3-inch colour display, worldwide basemap, 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter, plus the ability to stream depth, speed and wind from compatible Garmin chartplotters over ANT and Wi-Fi. An internal rechargeable battery gives up to 40 hours of use, and the unit is IPX7 waterproof and buoyant, making it a reliable safety and navigation companion offshore.
