Description

The Garmin R111LH is the in-hull version of the R109LH high-power CHIRP transducer. It is suspended in a liquid-filled tank that is epoxied inside the hull and transmits sonar directly through solid fibreglass, so there is no hole to drill, no drag and no exposure to marine growth. The 16-element broadband array sweeps a 38 to 75 kHz low band and a 130 to 210 kHz high band, giving 117 kHz of total bandwidth from one transducer. With 2 kW of transmit power the low band sounds to 6,000 ft and the high band to 1,500 ft, with an overall rating of 8,000 ft. Its very narrow beam at both frequencies delivers clean deep-water bottom and water-column detail. The in-hull tank suits solid fibreglass hulls only, up to 22 degrees deadrise on the short side and 12 degrees on the long side, and can be used with inboard, I/O, outboard or jet-drive boats. The in-hull configuration reads depth only. The transducer terminates in bare wires and requires the Garmin GSD 26 CHIRP sonar module, which connects to networked GPSMAP chartplotters.
