Does the ZG100 include a compass?
Yes. The ZG100 combines a GPS antenna with a built-in electronic heading sensor, providing heading data for radar chart overlay and head-up chart orientation, plus heel and trim sensing.
What is the position update rate and accuracy?
The ZG100 delivers a position update rate of up to 10 Hz with 3 m horizontal accuracy, +/- 3 degrees heading accuracy and +/- 1 degree roll/pitch accuracy at 30 degrees.
How is the ZG100 connected and mounted?
The ZG100 connects directly to an NMEA 2000 network via a Micro-C drop cable and can be surface (flush) mounted or pole mounted using a standard 1 inch x 14 TPI thread.
Does the built-in compass need calibrating?
Yes. The built-in heading sensor should be calibrated before use to compensate for local magnetic fields. Calibration is done by making two full 360 degree turns followed by a further turn, in calm conditions, or from a compatible display unit.
Is the ZG100 waterproof?
The ZG100 carries an IPX7 splash-proof rating and operates from -25C to +60C, making it suitable for exterior deck or pole mounting.
