Description
The Garmin GPSMAP 79s is a rugged marine handheld built for serious on-the-water navigation. Its 3-inch, 240 x 400 transflective colour display stays clear in bright sunlight, and a multi-GNSS receiver tracking GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and QZSS delivers fast, accurate positioning. A built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated compass shows heading even when you are standing still, and the unit is rated to IPX7 and MIL-STD-810 for water, shock and thermal resistance.
Two AA batteries keep it running for up to 19 hours, so spares are easy to carry on a long passage. With 8 GB of internal memory plus microSD expansion up to 32 GB and a preloaded worldwide basemap, the 79s is ready to navigate out of the box; the 79sc version adds preloaded BlueChart g3 coastal charts.
