Icom SMA Plug to BNC Socket AD-92SMA for IC-R6/M73/M87/GM1600E
Description
The AD-92SMA is a coaxial antenna adapter with an SMA male plug at one end and a BNC female socket at the other. It screws into the SMA antenna connector of an Icom handheld and allows a BNC-base antenna to be fitted in place of the supplied whip.
It is used wherever a BNC antenna - a longer gain whip, a magnetic mount, or a lead to an external masthead or wheelhouse antenna - has to be connected to a radio built with an SMA socket. Icom lists it for handhelds including the IC-M73, IC-M87 and IC-GM1600E, and for the IC-R6 receiver.
This is a mechanical adapter only: it does not change the radio's transmit power or tuning, and the resulting performance depends entirely on the antenna fitted.
