Description
The MG USB-CAN Interface Module connects a personal computer to an MG Master over the CAN-Bus. Working with the MG Diagnostic tool software, it lets an installer read out and change settings, diagnose a running system that may have a fault, and update the firmware of MG batteries, Masters and the Energy Monitor.
The module has a robust USB B mini connector on the computer side and two female MG-pinned 8P8C (RJ45) CAN connectors for the MG bus, with a high-speed CAN connection running up to 1 Mbit/s. A barrel power connector can supply power to an unpowered CAN-bus, and the interface is galvanically isolated for a safe connection.
