Description

The IRIS740 is the network IP model in Iris's Barracuda range of through-hull cameras, combining the high definition 2MP camera module from the best-selling IRIS460 IP camera with Iris's latest thru-hull housing to deliver crisp, clear 1080P underwater imaging. It can be integrated as part of a sports fishing package or used in its own right as a high-end digital sub-surface camera.

Connectivity is genuinely plug-and-play, with a single Power over Ethernet connector linking the camera to an onboard network or dedicated network video recorder; the camera also runs from 12VDC. It is directly compatible with Raymarine and Axiom displays running Lighthouse 2 or higher, Simrad, Lowrance and B&G plotters and Furuno's TimeZero v4.1 firmware, while Garmin compatibility is achieved through Iris CMAC systems. A mechanical IR-cut filter provides true day and night operation, switching to monochrome in low light.

The IRIS740 has an aluminium bronze bezel, hard anodised body and a reinforced, scratch-resistant, optically clear lens window. Its PoE connector carries an IP68 rating and the camera is supplied with a field-installable waterproof RJ45 plug, lock-nut and rubber spacers, so footage can be viewed live on a smartphone, tablet or laptop over a WiFi router.
