Description

The Maretron SH-004 Photoelectric Smoke / Heat Detector Kit provides networked fire detection for general-use areas such as cabins and saloons. It is intended for dry areas and should not be used where steam or moisture is regularly present; for high-moisture spaces the SH-005 kit is the better choice.

The kit contains a photoelectric smoke detector and its mounting base along with an 8k ohm end-of-line relay for circuit supervision. It connects to a free channel of a Maretron SIM100 Switch Indicator Module, which broadcasts the detector state, a switch counter and a switch timer over the NMEA 2000 network so alarms can be viewed on any compatible display. Powering the detector separately from the network keeps it working even when the NMEA 2000 supply is off.

The detector can be ceiling or wall mounted directly or onto standard electrical boxes, and features a tamper lock. A single detector should never cover more than 900 square feet, and installation should follow ABYC and NFPA fire-detection guidelines.

Where should the SH-004 be used?
The SH-004 is for general-use dry areas such as cabins and saloons. It should not be used where steam or moisture is regularly present; use the SH-005 for high-moisture areas.
