The Garmin inReach Messenger Plus is a rugged satellite communicator that goes beyond text, adding photo and voice messaging so you can stay in touch when there is no mobile coverage. Using the global Iridium satellite network, it delivers two-way text messaging, the ability to send photos and 30-second voice messages, location sharing, inReach weather forecasts and an interactive SOS to the Garmin Response coordination centre, staffed 24/7. An active satellite subscription is required.
Messenger Plus pairs over Bluetooth with the Garmin Messenger app to send messages, photos, voice notes or an SOS from your phone, and it can relay messages between cellular and satellite so conversations keep flowing. The internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives up to 600 hours of use in low-power 10-minute messaging mode, the sunlight-readable monochrome display confirms messages on the device, and the unit is built for extreme temperatures and rated to IPX7.
