SMS200-01
The Maretron SMS200 is a 4G LTE cellular modem that sends text-message alerts from your vessel's NMEA 2000 network to your phone. Working with Maretron displays or N2KView software, it turns programmable conditions such as high bilge water, low battery voltage or an opened hatch into text messages sent to selected numbers. You can also text the vessel for status. This SMS200-01 variant works with most LTE services in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean and ships with a pre-installed SIM (user activation and subscription required).

Description

The Maretron SMS200 Short Message Service (Text) Module is a 4G LTE cellular modem that provides text-message notifications from your vessel's NMEA 2000 network to your phone. It works together with Maretron dedicated displays or N2KView software running on an MBB Series black box, TSM Series touchscreen or a PC to define programmable alert conditions from sensors on the network. When a condition such as high bilge water, low battery voltage, unplugged shore power or an opened hatch occurs, the display or software instructs the SMS200 to connect to the cellular network and text an alert to selected numbers, anywhere you have coverage.

You can also text the vessel and, with the appropriate sensors installed, the SMS200 replies with status such as position, bilge status, battery and shore-power voltage, wind speed and inside and outside temperature. When used with N2KView, it can be configured to respond to more complex queries covering virtually any NMEA 2000 parameter. This SMS200-01 variant works with most LTE services in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean, ships with a pre-installed SIM (user activation and monthly subscription required) and is housed in a rugged IP67 enclosure.

What cellular coverage does the SMS200-01 support?
This SMS200-01 variant works with most 4G LTE services in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It ships with a pre-installed SIM; user activation and a monthly subscription are required.
How is the SMS200 different from the SMS100?
The SMS200 is the newer 4G LTE version, whereas the SMS100 uses a GSM (2G/3G) modem with a user-supplied SIM. Both send text-message alerts from the NMEA 2000 network and reply to status requests.
Can it answer detailed queries about my boat?
Yes. With the proper sensors it replies with status such as position, bilge, battery and shore-power voltage, wind speed and temperatures, and when used with N2KView it can be configured to respond to more complex queries covering virtually any NMEA 2000 parameter.
