Description

The Garmin GPSMAP 923xsv with GMR 18 HD3 Radome is a ready-to-install radar bundle, combining the 9-inch GPSMAP 923xsv chartplotter with Garmin's latest-generation 18-inch HD3 dome radar. It adds collision avoidance and weather awareness to a connected helm.

The GMR 18 HD3 is a magnetron radome delivering 4 kW of peak power, with detection from 20 m out to 36 nm and a refined target picture. It connects using Garmin BlueNet and is compatible with the Garmin Marine Network, so radar imagery can be shown on the chartplotter and overlaid on the chart.

The 923xsv brings a high-resolution WXGA IPS touchscreen with built-in SideVu, ClearVu and traditional CHIRP sonar, a preloaded worldwide basemap and support for premium Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts. Built-in Wi-Fi, NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 link the system to the ActiveCaptain app, autopilots, engine data and instruments. Both units are rated to IPX7.

What is included in this bundle?
This bundle (010-02366-52) includes the GPSMAP 923xsv chartplotter and the Garmin GMR 18 HD3 Radome with its network cable and mounting hardware. A transducer for the chartplotter sonar is sold separately.
What are the GMR 18 HD3 radar specifications?
The GMR 18 HD3 is an 18-inch magnetron dome radar with 4 kW peak power, a maximum range of 36 nm and a minimum range of 20 m. It rotates at up to 24 RPM and transmits at 9.38 to 9.44 GHz.
How does the HD3 radome connect to the chartplotter?
The GMR 18 HD3 uses Garmin BlueNet networking technology and is compatible with the Garmin Marine Network. A Garmin Marine Network adapter cable is used to connect it to a Garmin Marine Network chartplotter such as the 923xsv.
What sonar does the 923xsv chartplotter provide?
The 923xsv has built-in Garmin SideVu and ClearVu scanning sonar plus traditional CHIRP sonar through a 12-pin transducer port, and it supports Panoptix and LiveScope live sonar over the network.
How is each unit powered?
The chartplotter accepts 10 to 32 Vdc with a 6 A fuse, while the GMR 18 HD3 radome accepts 11 to 32 Vdc with a 7.5 A fuse and draws about 40 W when transmitting.
