Description

The Garmin GMR 24 xHD3 delivers high-definition magnetron radar from a 24-inch enclosed radome. Its 4 kW of peak power and narrow 3.7-degree horizontal beamwidth give superior target separation and detection from 20 m out to 48 nautical miles, with antenna rotation of up to 60 RPM for a fast on-screen redraw.

Scan averaging filters out sea clutter and interference for cleaner, more consistent targets, while target-size processing uses pulse expansion to optimise on-screen object shapes at all range scales. True echo trails display a historical trail of moving boats to help you quickly identify potential collision threats.

Dual-range with overlay lets you watch close and long range at the same time. The radome connects over Garmin BlueNet and Garmin Marine Network, carries an IPX7 water rating and is controlled entirely from a compatible Garmin chartplotter.

Is the GMR 24 xHD3 a magnetron or solid-state radar?
The GMR 24 xHD3 is a magnetron radar with 4 kW of peak power, with scan averaging, target-size processing and true echo trails.
What is the maximum range of the GMR 24 xHD3?
The radar detects targets from a minimum of 20 m (66 ft) out to a maximum of 48 nautical miles.
How does the 24 xHD3 compare with the 18 xHD3?
Both use a 4 kW magnetron and rotate at up to 60 RPM with a 48 nm range. The 24 xHD3 uses a larger 24-inch antenna, giving a narrower 3.7-degree horizontal beamwidth (versus 5.2 degrees) for better target separation.
What does true echo trails do?
True echo trails display a historical trail of boats on the water with relative-motion influence removed, helping you quickly identify moving targets and potential collision threats.
Which networks does the GMR 24 xHD3 use?
It uses Garmin BlueNet networking technology and is compatible with both Garmin BlueNet and Garmin Marine Network devices.
What is the compass-safe distance?
The compass-safe distance for the 24 xHD3 radome is 95 cm (3.1 ft).
