Description

The Raymarine P79 is an adjustable in-hull depth transducer ideal for trailered boats or anyone who wants to minimise drag. It mounts inside the boat and reads through the solid fibreglass bottom with no hull protrusion. An innovative flange bonds to the inside of the hull with quick-setting marine epoxy, is aligned to the boat's deadrise using built-in markings, then filled with non-toxic antifreeze before the active transducer cap is dialled in for a straight-down beam and maximum echo returns.

This 600-Watt version operates at 50 and 200 kHz and is supplied with a 9.1 m (30 ft) cable fitted with a Raymarine 8-pin DSM-style connector, directly compatible with the CP370 sonar module and legacy CP300, DSM300 and DSM30 modules. It accommodates deadrise angles from 2 to 22 degrees and suits solid fibreglass hulls up to 5/8 inch thick. It is not for use with cored hulls and, as an in-hull design, does not include a water-temperature sensor.

Does the P79 require a hole in the hull?
No. The P79 is an in-hull transducer that bonds to the inside of a solid fibreglass hull and reads through it, so there is no hull penetration and no external drag.
What deadrise angles does it support?
The adjustable flange accommodates a wide range of deadrise angles from 2 to 22 degrees, and is dialled in during installation for a straight-down beam.
What hulls is it suitable for?
Solid fibreglass hulls up to 5/8 inch (16 mm) thick, or aluminium hulls under 3.8 mm. It is not recommended for cored hulls. As an in-hull design it has no water-temperature sensor.
