Description

The Ray73 is the feature flagship of Raymarine's compact fixed VHF radio range. It combines full Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) with a built-in AIS receiver for collision-avoidance awareness of nearby vessels, and an internal GPS for accurate position reporting and DSC distress alerting.

Over and above the Ray70, the Ray73 includes an integrated loudhailer/hailer with automatic fog signals and a listen-back function, plus dual-station support and intercom. It connects to Raymarine multifunction displays over NMEA 2000 / SeaTalkng and NMEA 0183, so AIS, GPS and DSC data is shared across the navigation system and AIS targets appear on the chart.

With radio, AIS reception, GPS and hailer in one slim unit, the Ray73 is an efficient, space-saving communications and situational-awareness solution for cruising boats.

Does the Ray73 transmit AIS?
No. The Ray73 has a built-in AIS receiver, so it displays other AIS-equipped vessels, but it does not transmit your own position. For AIS transmit and receive, pair it with a Raymarine AIS700 transceiver.
What is the difference between the Ray70 and Ray73?
Both are compact fixed VHF radios with a built-in AIS receiver, internal GPS and Class D DSC. The Ray73 adds an integrated loudhailer/hailer with automatic fog signals and listen-back, making it the feature flagship of the range.
Can the Ray73 show AIS targets on my chartplotter?
Yes. Connected over NMEA 2000 / SeaTalkng or NMEA 0183, the Ray73 shares received AIS data with Raymarine multifunction displays, where targets appear overlaid on the chart.
