Description
The FLIR AX8 is a fixed-mount thermal and visible imaging sensor designed for unattended continuous monitoring of critical mechanical and electrical equipment. Its 80x60 pixel uncooled microbolometer thermal detector provides a 48x37 degree field of view, while the co-located 640x480 visible camera and FLIR MSX image enhancement technology overlay edge detail from the visible image onto the thermal feed for superior contextual clarity. The AX8 measures temperature across up to six user-defined areas, applying automatic hot-spot and cold-spot detection with up to five configurable alarms delivered via digital output, email, FTP, or SMTP. Enclosed to IP67, the unit operates from 10.8 to 30 VDC or PoE (IEEE 802.3af), and communicates via Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP for integration with PLCs and Raymarine MFDs. Measuring just 54 x 25 x 95 mm, it installs easily in engine rooms and bilges.
