Description

The Garmin Autopilot Shadow Drive is a hydraulic sensor that brings intuitive, hands-on override to a Garmin Reactor or GHP hydraulic autopilot. Installed inline in the port or starboard steering line, it senses the pressure change when you manually turn the wheel and instantly suspends autopilot control so you can steer around hazards or traffic without pressing standby. When you release the helm and hold a steady course, the autopilot smoothly resumes a heading hold at the new heading. The Shadow Drive valve wires into the autopilot CCU cable and must be mounted horizontally and level, secured with cable ties, at least 305 mm from magnetic materials, closer to the helm than to the pump. It is intended for power planing-hull or displacement-hull boats and is a standard part of many Garmin hydraulic autopilot corepacks.
