Description

The Garmin GT15M-THF delivers powerful 600 W mid-band CHIRP traditional sonar from a clean flush thru-hull fitting, with a stainless steel housing suitable for fibreglass, wood, composite, aluminium and steel hulls. Operating across 85 to 165 kHz, it produces excellent target separation and clear bottom detail to 580 m (1,900 ft) in freshwater and 365 m (1,200 ft) in saltwater. This 20 degree version has the correcting angle built into the housing, so it flush-mounts on hulls with 17 to 24 degrees of deadrise without cutting a separate fairing block. For aluminium and steel hulls the included galvanic isolation components prevent corrosion. A 15 m (50 ft) cable terminates in an 8-pin connector that plugs into a compatible Garmin chartplotter, fishfinder or sonar black box, with Garmin auto-detection setting up the sonar and a water-temperature reading supported on compatible displays.

Which hull types can the GT15M-THF be fitted to?
It has a stainless steel housing suitable for fibreglass, wood, composite, aluminium and steel hulls. When fitting it to an aluminium or steel hull you must install the included galvanic isolation components (hull isolator and thread isolator) to prevent galvanic corrosion.
Do I need a fairing block with this transducer?
No. The deadrise correction is built into the housing. This 20 degree version suits hulls with 17 to 24 degrees of deadrise. Point the arrow on the top to the keel so the internal angle aligns with the hull. Choose the 0 degree variant for 0 to 5 degrees, the 12 degree variant for 6 to 16 degrees, or the 20 degree variant for 17 to 24 degrees.
What sonar does the GT15M-THF provide?
It is a mid-band CHIRP traditional transducer covering 85 to 165 kHz at 600 W. It produces the traditional fish-arch and bottom view and supports a water-temperature reading on compatible displays. It does not provide ClearVu or SideVu scanning sonar.
How deep will it read?
Maximum depth is 580 m (1,900 ft) in freshwater and 365 m (1,200 ft) in saltwater, depending on water conditions, bottom type and the connected display.
How does it connect to my chartplotter?
It has an 8-pin connector on a 15 m (50 ft) cable that plugs into a compatible Garmin chartplotter, fishfinder or sonar black box. Garmin auto-detection configures the sonar automatically. Update your chartplotter software when you install it.
