Description

The Garmin GT56UHD-TM is a versatile transom-mount transducer that brings three sonar technologies together in a single compact housing. High-wide CHIRP traditional sonar produces large, clear fish arches, while Garmin ClearVu and SideVu scanning sonar render near-photographic images of structure and the bottom around your boat.

Three scanning frequencies give you the flexibility to prioritise resolution or range. Ultra High-Definition 1 MHz delivers the sharpest detail in shallow water, 800 kHz offers a balance of clarity and depth, and 455 kHz CHIRP extends SideVu coverage out to 152 m (500 ft.) per side. The transducer fits transom or trolling-motor mounts and includes a fast-response temperature sensor, making it a strong all-round choice for inshore and freshwater anglers running a compatible Garmin chartplotter.

What sonar types does the GT56UHD-TM support?
It provides three sonar technologies in one transducer: high-wide CHIRP traditional sonar (140 to 240 kHz), Garmin ClearVu and Garmin SideVu scanning sonar, including Ultra High-Definition scanning at 800 kHz and 1 MHz.
How deep can the GT56UHD-TM read?
Traditional CHIRP sonar reaches a maximum depth of 244 m (800 ft.). Garmin ClearVu reaches 122 m (400 ft.) at 455 kHz, and SideVu covers up to 152 m (500 ft.) each side at 455 kHz. Actual performance depends on water conditions, salinity and bottom type.
How is the GT56UHD-TM mounted?
It is designed for transom mounting and can also be fitted to a trolling motor. Mounting brackets and hardware for both methods are included.
What connector and cable length does it use?
The GT56UHD-TM uses a 12-pin Garmin transducer connector with a 7.6 m (25 ft.) cable. Some chartplotters require a Garmin adapter cable, sold separately.
Does the GT56UHD-TM include a temperature sensor?
Yes. A fast-response water temperature sensor is built in, and the transducer supports depth, speed and temperature data on a compatible Garmin chartplotter.
Which Garmin chartplotters work with the GT56UHD-TM?
It is compatible with STRIKER Vivid/Plus, ECHOMAP UHD2 and ECHOMAP Ultra 2 chartplotters, the GPSMAP 8600xsv and 9000 series, the GPSMAP 7x3/9x3/12x3/16x3xsv series, and the GCV 20 and GSD 25 sonar modules. Some pairings need a Garmin adapter cable.
