Description
The Vesper WatchMate 850 is an award winning standalone Class B AIS transponder with an integrated colour LCD display, designed to bring dedicated AIS collision awareness to any helm without the need for a separate chartplotter. It transmits your vessel's position and receives data from all nearby Class A and Class B equipped vessels, presenting them on a clear, prioritised display.
An internal GPS patch antenna is built in, so in most installations no external antenna needs to be wired. The intelligent display filters out non priority targets and highlights only the vessels that may pose a collision risk, with graphical crossing predictions that show whether to turn to port or starboard. Multiple location based profiles, an anchor watch and configurable alarms are all managed directly on the unit.
Built for reliable offshore use, the WatchMate 850 is fully waterproof to IPx7, consumes very little power and includes a waterproof USB connection for interfacing to a PC. This model is discontinued; Vesper Marine is now part of Garmin and the WatchMate line has been superseded.
