Description

The Victron BMV-712 Smart is a high-precision battery monitor that keeps track of your battery bank's state of charge so you always know how much usable energy remains. An included 500A current shunt measures voltage and current on the battery negative, and the head unit displays state of charge, time-to-go, voltage, current and consumed amp-hours, along with a wide range of stored historical data for assessing usage patterns and battery health.

Bluetooth is built in, so you can read the data and change settings from a phone or tablet using the free VictronConnect app. A programmable visual and audible alarm and a bistable relay can switch off non-critical loads or start a generator when needed, while a second input can monitor a starter battery voltage, a temperature, or the midpoint voltage of a series-connected bank. A VE.Direct port allows the monitor to be connected to a Victron GX device for system monitoring on the VRM portal.

What is included with the BMV-712 Smart?
It comes with the head unit, a 500A / 50mV current shunt with quick-connect PCB, a 10 metre RJ12 connecting cable, a battery cable with a 1A slow-blow fuse for the positive connection, a square and a round front bezel, a securing ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting. No other components are needed.
Does it have Bluetooth?
Yes, Bluetooth is built in. You read state of charge, voltage, current, consumed amp-hours and time-to-go, view historical data and change settings from a phone or tablet using the free VictronConnect app.
What can the auxiliary input measure?
The BMV-712 has a second input that can measure the voltage of a second battery (for example a starter battery), a battery temperature, or the midpoint voltage of a series-connected bank, each with its own alarm and relay settings.
Does it have an alarm and a relay?
Yes. It has a programmable visual and audible alarm and a bistable relay rated 60V / 1A (normally open, and the function can be inverted) to switch off non-critical loads or start a generator when needed.
Can it be connected to a GX device?
Yes. A VE.Direct communication port lets you connect the BMV-712 to a Victron GX device, such as a Color Control GX, for system monitoring and logging on the VRM portal.
