Description

This high-capacity hydraulic pack contains everything needed to fit a Simrad AP44 autopilot to a larger hydraulic-steered boat. It combines the AP44 colour controller, the NAC-3 autopilot computer, a Precision-9 heading sensor and the PUMP-3 reversible hydraulic pump.

The NAC-3 is the centre of the system, designed for boats of 10 metres (35 ft) and above and rated to operate high-current pumps up to 30 A continuous and 50 A peak. PUMP-3 provides the hydraulic muscle, delivering 1.6 litres per minute for cylinder displacements of 160 to 550 cc on boats up to 50 ft. Simrad Virtual Rudder Feedback technology lets the pack run without a separate rudder feedback unit on many installations, while the system still accepts an RF25 or variable-frequency RF300 where a physical sensor is preferred.

Continuum steering delivers automated turn patterns and No Drift steering, with NMEA 2000 networking tying the controller, computer, compass and compatible Simrad displays together for a straightforward installation.
