Description
The Simrad R5027 30U/12S is a complete S-Band radar system from the R5000 commercial series, type-approved for CAT 1 SOLAS vessels including high-speed craft. Its 30kW up-mast transceiver and 12ft open-array antenna exploit the longer S-Band wavelength to hold targets in heavy rain, fog and sea clutter where an X-Band set can struggle, making it an ideal secondary radar for demanding conditions. The up-mast architecture keeps installation simple, needing only two thin cables between the antenna and the processor over runs of up to around 65 metres.
