Description
The Simrad AP70 MK2 sits at the heart of a flexible professional autopilot system for a wide range of working vessels, from fast SAR craft and fishing boats up to larger commercial vessels. This basic pack pairs the AP70 MK2 control unit with an AC70 autopilot computer and an RF300 rudder feedback, configured to drive reversible hydraulic pumps or non-isolated solenoid valves on power boats from 30 ft up.
The control unit features a large, heavy-duty rotary dial and an optically bonded 5-inch (127 mm) colour display readable from any direction. Built on Simrad Continuum steering, the system supports Standby, Follow-Up, Non-Follow-Up, Auto, NoDrift and Nav modes, and can control up to six rudders and thrusters with configurable work and low/high speed modes. Command transfer and multiple control stations let larger vessels be steered from several positions.
The AC70 board provides a non-SOLAS computer for direct drive of reversible pumps or non-isolated solenoids, a common workboat choice, while the system meets IMO and ISO steering performance standards. The control unit carries an exposed IPx6 rating in a seawater-resistant aluminium housing.
