Description
The Garmin BlueNet 30 Gateway lets you bring existing Garmin Marine Network equipment into a new Garmin BlueNet system. It connects legacy Marine Network devices on one side to a Garmin BlueNet chartplotter or network on the other, so radar, cameras, switches and other Marine Network hardware can continue to be used as you upgrade your displays. The gateway requires at least one Garmin BlueNet chartplotter in the system, and only one is needed for a mixed network. Power draw is minimal at 2.3 W maximum, and a wide 10 to 32 Vdc input suits both 12 V and 24 V boats. A rugged housing of polycarbonate and die-cast aluminium together with an IPX7 water rating means it can be installed in exposed locations. Note that Garmin BlueNet cables are not interchangeable with NMEA 2000 cables.

What does the BlueNet 30 gateway do?
It connects legacy Garmin Marine Network devices to a Garmin BlueNet chartplotter or network, allowing existing Marine Network equipment to be kept when upgrading to BlueNet.
Do I need a BlueNet chartplotter to use it?
Yes. The gateway requires at least one Garmin BlueNet chartplotter in the system. It should not be used if you do not have any BlueNet chartplotters.
Are BlueNet cables the same as NMEA 2000 cables?
No. Garmin BlueNet network cables are not the same as NMEA 2000 cables and cannot be used interchangeably.
What power does the BlueNet 30 gateway need?
It accepts a wide 10 to 32 Vdc input and uses a maximum of 2.3 W, with a typical current draw of 150 mA at 12 Vdc or 90 mA at 24 Vdc. A 2 A fuse is specified.
Is the BlueNet 30 gateway waterproof?
Yes. It carries an IEC 60529 IPX7 water rating and withstands incidental exposure to water of up to 1 m for up to 30 minutes.
