Description

The Garmin GA 38 is an external GPS and GLONASS antenna designed to supply position data to compatible Garmin VHF radios, AIS units and chartplotters. By tracking both the GPS and GLONASS constellations it increases the number of usable satellites, improving positioning reliability for navigation and for the position reporting required by VHF DSC and AIS.

The antenna connects using a standard BNC connector to the port labelled ANTENNA or EXT GPS, and a generous 10 m cable allows flexible routing around the vessel. Three supplied brackets cover surface, pole and under-deck mounting, so it can be sited wherever it has the clearest view of the sky, away from the engine, radar path and other antennas. The fully gasketed, high-impact plastic-alloy housing is rated to IEC 60529 IPX7.
