Description
The Balmar 12-98-AIR is an air intake accessory for Balmar's 98-Series high-output alternators. It mounts on the back of the alternator and allows fresh air to be ducted to the unit from a remote blower, giving enhanced cooling in hot or enclosed engine spaces where a large alternator can otherwise run warm. Better cooling helps the alternator hold its output and protects the windings and diodes over long charging runs.
Supplied as a kit with the necessary mounting hardware, the 12-98-AIR is intended for installations where forced-air cooling is beneficial, such as tightly packed engine rooms or high-duty-cycle charging. It is an accessory for the 98-Series alternator and is not a standalone charging device.
