Description

The B&G H5000 Barometric Pressure Sensor provides high-resolution measurement of barometric (atmospheric) pressure. It allows the H5000 CPU to record atmospheric pressure changes over varying periods of time, so you can monitor pressure trends and anticipate changes in the weather.

The barometric sensor is one of the two H5000 sensor modules and connects directly to the H5000 network. An H5000 CPU is required to display and log the data.

What does the H5000 Barometric Pressure Sensor measure?
It measures barometric (atmospheric) pressure at high resolution, allowing the H5000 CPU to record atmospheric pressure changes over varying periods of time.
How does barometric pressure help me?
Tracking pressure trends helps you anticipate changing weather. A falling barometer often indicates deteriorating conditions, while a rising barometer suggests improving weather, which is valuable information for passage planning and racing.
Do I need an H5000 CPU to use the barometric sensor?
Yes. The barometric sensor is an H5000 sensor module that connects to the H5000 network and requires an H5000 CPU to display and log the pressure data.
Where should the barometric sensor be installed?
As a network module it can be located wherever is most convenient on the H5000 network. It should be mounted in a protected location below decks.
How does it connect to the system?
The barometric sensor connects to the H5000 Micro-C network (NMEA 2000 compatible) and is powered from the network.
