Description

The WS710 high-performance wind sensor offers superb aerodynamics and accuracy. A 0.8m high modulus carbon spar elevates the wind sensor into clear air, above any sail-plan disturbance at the masthead.

The WS700 series is the ultimate wind sensor for performance sailing, providing the most accurate wind angle and speed data. The new one-piece vane design gives superb aerodynamics and stability, as a result of over 200,000 hours of combined design and wind tunnel testing.

Why does the WS710 use a vertical carbon spar?
The 0.8m vertical spar lifts the wind vane into clear air above the masthead, minimising sail-plan disturbance so wind measurement is more accurate and needs less calibration.
How do I connect the WS710 to my instruments?
The sensor outputs a NMEA 0183 MWV,R sentence at 10Hz directly to compatible systems, and connects to a NMEA 2000 network through the optional WS310 interface.
Is the WS710 compatible with my B&G system?
The WS710 works with Triton, Triton2, H5000 and WTP3 systems (some via the optional WS310 interface) and any NMEA 0183 system. It is not compatible with H3000.
What is the difference between the WS710 and the longer WS720/WS730?
They share the same vane and electronics; the WS710 has a 0.8m spar, the WS720 1.1m and the WS730 1.4m. A longer spar lifts the vane further into clean air, beneficial on larger or more powerful rigs.
