Description

The Class T Fuse 400A is a fast-acting, extremely current-limiting DC fuse for high-current battery and marine power systems. Class T fuses are the recommended main protection for lithium battery banks and other systems capable of very high fault currents, because they interrupt a short circuit quickly and safely. This fuse uses the JLLN-400A element in the compact 225 to 400A body size. The 225 to 400A body fits Victron Lynx Class T holders and other standard Class T bases, making it a straightforward main or inverter fuse. It carries a 200 kA interrupting rating and is less than a third of the size of a comparable Class R fuse, so it protects inverters, converters and distribution without taking up excessive space.

Why use a Class T fuse for a lithium battery?
Lithium banks can deliver very high fault currents. Class T fuses are fast-acting with a high interrupting rating (200 kA here), so they clear a short circuit quickly and safely, which is why they are the recommended main fuse for lithium systems.
Will this fuse fit a Victron Lynx Class T?
Yes. It uses the 225 to 400A Class T body size, which fits Victron Lynx Class T holders and other standard Class T bases.
What does the 400A rating mean?
It is the continuous current the fuse will carry without blowing. Choose a rating above your system maximum continuous load but within the cable capacity.
